This programme is part of the council's youth employability initiative. We are committed to offering career development opportunities for young people within South Ayrshire and to comply with the conditions of funding from Skills Development Scotland, applicants must fall into the following categories before the start date of 03 August 2026.

For those applying for the Electrician position, you will be required to undertake a mandatory SECCT Test on 26 June 2026.

This post is temporary until 02/08/2030. The grade of this post is Craft Apprentice.

  • For candidates under 18, the rate of pay will be £8.00 per hour.
  • For candidates aged 18 - 20, the rate of pay will be £10.85 per hour.
  • For candidates aged 21 and over, the rate of pay will be £12.71 per hour.
