Supporting Young Carers and Care Experienced Young People across South Ayrshire.

What this role is all about:

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about helping young people feel included, valued and able to shape their own future. This role focuses on supporting young carers and young people with care experience — whether they’re looked after at home, in residential or kinship care, foster care, or adoption. You’ll work closely with The Education Welfare team and the South Ayrshire Champions Board to ensure every young person has fair access to sport, physical activity and positive experiences in their community.

REQUIREMENTS

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Interviews for this post are scheduled for 03/09/2026. This post is temporary until 31/03/2027. The grade of this post is Level 8. The work style for this post is Agile worker. The successful candidate will primarily work from home with occasional travel within the South Ayrshire area. Frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service. The work pattern is: 8.30-16:00 (Weekend and evening work when required).
