As part of the Physical Education team, you will play a key role in supporting our highly successful in-school BASKA programme. This will involve developing and embedding whole-school approaches to deliver the local authority action plan in line with the Included, Engaged and Involved national guidance, with a strong focus on prevention and positive behaviour support.

The role requires a clear commitment to improving outcomes for young people, including supporting them to achieve strong performances in National Qualifications and to engage in wider achievement opportunities where accreditation supports positive post-school destinations. A central aspect of the role is the ability to build and maintain positive, consistent relationships with some of our most vulnerable and challenging young people. You will ensure that all learners feel valued, included and supported, enabling them to remain engaged as part of the Belmont school community.

REQUIREMENTS

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
