Lead the Risk, Insurance, Occupational Health and Safety, Business Continuity and Civil Contingencies Team (for North, South and East Ayrshire Councils). Lead the development, delivery, review and implementation of the Council’s Risk Management Strategy, Corporate Business Continuity Strategy and to prepare and review the Corporate Health and Safety Policy.
Deliver strategic plans and lead and manage a range of high-quality services which ensure compliance with statutory obligations, continuous improvement and efficiency, and which drive transformational change by promoting a positive organisational culture of empowerment, innovation, and change.
The specific areas of responsibility will be determined by the Council’s priorities and may change from time to time. Currently, in addition to the principal accountabilities outlined below this post will have responsibility for the management of:
- Health and Safety
- Risk Management
- Insurance and Claims Defensibility
- Business Continuity and Civil Contingencies
- Events / Martyn’s Law

The grade of this post is Level 16. The work style for this post is Hybrid Worker. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between home and the office and the frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service.
