Projects Team Leader   Salary and grade: £62,445 – £67,884, Grade 09 Duration of role: Permanent Hours per week: 37 hours per week Location: The designated office base is Abbey House, Abingdon. The councils operate in a truly flexible, and hybrid way where the focus is on outcomes not where you work.   Closing Date: 2nd June 2025   About the role and what we’re looking for   Main duties and responsibilities   • Strategy and Project prioritisation • Strategic Engagement and Relationship Management • Team/Staff Management • Service Delivery • Promoting a positive image of both councils • leading by example in modelling the conduct, behaviour and values expected of the councils’ employees • taking initiative for solving issues and problems • to cover the duties of the service manager, if required i.e. when the • service manager is unavailable through sickness, annual leave or has conflicting appointments • representing either council equally and without bias to all outside bodies • undertaking all such duties and responsibilities determined by the head of service or service manager that is commensurate with the nature of the post   About you   Your essential skills, knowledge and experience   • a relevant professional qualification or equivalent demonstrable vocational experience • experience of managing a team delivering Major Capital and Revenue Projects, including Decarbonisation Improvement works across a diverse stock portfolio to include Corporate/Public Buildings, Residential Housing stock and Infrastructure (roads, footpaths, car parks, bridges etc) • proven successful experience securing external funding and writing successful, engaging bids, preferably in the public sector. • Evidenced written and oral communication skills, ensuring clarity of messages, ideas and facts • Energetic, determined and positive attitude • an inclusive team player who can achieve performance and results individually and through others • aware of own strengths and weaknesses and committed to addressing areas for development • demonstrates a commitment to self-development • political awareness and experience of communicating complex • information in a concise and engaging way, preferably in the public sector. • willing to travel, as required   Your essential qualifications   • Educated to bachelor’s degree level • Preference for related degree subject in property, building or construction (but not essential – with alternative appropriate experience) • Minimum 5 years’ experience with property building or construction project delivery. • Degree acquired by- attending higher education and obtaining qualification • Membership of a relevant professional organisation such as RICS CIOB ICE (working toward professional membership will be considered)   If you have the following experience or qualifications – it’s a bonus   • knowledge and understanding of local government and its services • knowledge and understanding of energy efficiency, utility management and carbon reduction initiatives.   The benefits we offer   • A basic 25 day annual leave per annum, rising to 30 days after five years. • You also have all the bank holidays to look forward to and time off between Christmas and New Year. • Salary pay awards – most jobs give scope for a pay increase after six months or the following April (depending on your start date) and we also review salaries each April • Flexible working – a flexible approach to work that our employees love! • A generous career average pension scheme which includes life insurance of three times your salary • The opportunity to purchase a bike through Cyclescheme (cheaper than directly through a store) so that you can cycle to work! • Various schemes to keep you healthy (reduced gym membership, free swims, free eye tests for DSE users and more) • We give you two days per year to volunteer within the local community. • A range of resources, support, and activities to help you maintain your wellbeing including a monthly wellbeing hour in addition to the ability to work flexibly and annual leave.   You may also have experience in the following: Stakeholder Engagement, Project Support, Project Assistant, Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Project Management, Project Manager, Site Manager, Programme Manager, Project Management, etc.   REF-(Apply online only)
