The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
The main purpose of this post is to support the Deputy Director/Assistant Director/Lead Co-ordinator for Student Services in all aspects of the admissions, assessment, administration and allocation of additional learning support for learners including high needs learners. The post holder will also provide in-class support to learners where applicable and have supervisory responsibility for support staff.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- To assist with the assessment, allocation, administration and monitoring of additional learning support.
- Assist in the timetabling of support to ensure the efficient allocation of support staff.
- To assist in maintaining records through ATLAS and providing reports for additional learning support funds and internal funding streams as appropriate.
- To support the Lead Support Coordinator Deputy/Assistant Director with special arrangements in exams, obtaining normal way of working forms from teaching staff, applying for special arrangements to ensure the college meets the JCQ Guidelines.
- To act as the Autism and Mental Health support and assist as part of the safeguarding triage team.
- To support with EHCP reviews and new requests to ensure legal requirements are met and funding guidelines are followed.
- Collaborating with the EHCP Co-ordinators to support the EHCP process and any additional administration required.
- To assist the Deputy/Assistant Director/Lead Co-ordinator on the day-to-day activities of support staff.
- To provide ATLAS training and support to support staff.
- To provide induction for temporary staff and training on ATLAS. Monitor attendance and time sheets.
- To assist in the development and updating of documentation used to capture and record support.
- Attend meetings at the request of your line manager to ensure efficient communication with the College.
Supporting Learners
- To provide in-class support to learners.
- To complete relevant documentation to track and monitor progress as required by the college.
- Support and maintain effective working relationships with learners and liaise with tutors and other relevant staff to ensure that support is appropriate.
- Work with tutors to identify individual learning needs.
- Work with learners and tutors to set and agree individual targets as part of their individual support plan.
- Where necessary, carry out further assessments of students.
- Monitor and review learners' progress regularly and amend targets as necessary.
- Modify teaching materials to meet individual learner needs.
- As required make referrals in response to learners' emerging needs.
- Provide feedback to learners and tutors on progress at key stages in the learning process.
- Assist in the College's recruitment and enrolment process and contribute to advice and guidance processes.
