Aims of Job / Job Purpose

To be responsible for the College's recreation and leisure facilities and to support in the development and delivery of events and activities that promote students' personal development and wellbeing.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Organise and support the use of the gym, sports and common room areas.
  • Work as a team to deliver key events across the year, e.g. Healthy Living Days, Freshers' Fairs, Sporting Events, Children in Need, Comic/Sports Relief, Charity Events, Cultural Events and End of Term events.
  • Help widen student participation in a range of enrichment activities that encourage personal development, good health and mental wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with curriculum and the wider student services team to deliver activities that reflect the equality and diversity calendar.
  • Support and collaborate with the Student Union.
  • Support sporting activities/competitions and events across College and encourage all students to take part.
  • Keep equality of opportunity and celebration of diversity at the heart of all Enrichment activities.
  • Promote and support opportunities for community engagement, including student volunteering.
  • Keep accurate records/statistics in compliance with College recording systems.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with internal and external quality standards and contribute to the College's strategic aims.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Support the safeguarding and promotion of students' welfare.
  • Maintain confidentiality in relation to all College information and comply with Data Protection Legislation.
  • Participate in the College's Appraisal scheme and undertake any training as required.
  • Support and actively participate in the implementation of the College's Equal Opportunity policies.

Qualifications and Conditions of Employment

  • Pre‑employment checks required: enhanced DBS, Prohibition check, Childcare Disqualification (where applicable), medical fitness, identity and right to work.
  • Minimum of two suitable references covering a 5‑year period.
