The Role
We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to join our team, working with pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will play a vital role in delivering personalised learning pathways that prepare students for adulthood, independence, and meaningful post-16 opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex needs
- Adapt curriculum content to meet a range of cognitive and developmental levels
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
- Support students’ functional skills, life skills, and preparation for adulthood
- Create a structured, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress effectively
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with students with SEN, particularly complex needs and/or ASD
- Knowledge of pathways such as functional skills, ASDAN, or alternative curricula
- Strong understanding of behaviour support and communication strategies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
