About the School
We are a specialist primary provision in Kingston upon Thames supporting pupils aged 2–11 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs, and associated learning difficulties. The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join our team, working with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This role involves delivering highly personalised learning while supporting pupils’ physical, medical, and communication needs in a safe and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex needs
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP outcomes
- Work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and medical staff
- Support pupils with physical and medical needs, including the use of specialist equipment
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Lead and deploy teaching assistants effectively
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with pupils with physical disabilities and/or complex needs
- Understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and adaptive approaches
- Confidence working within a multidisciplinary team
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
