Backed by institutional investors and operating under recognised regulatory frameworks, the platform is positioned to transform how businesses manage escrow and cross-border trust payments. The company is now entering a critical growth phase and is building out its leadership team to drive scale.
Role Summary
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a commercially-minded individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth start-up environments. As Chief Commercial Officer, you\’ll be responsible for developing the commercial strategy and executing it hands-on from winning business to scaling a team. You\’ll join a lean, driven founding team, and must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to lead deals directly while laying the foundations to grow out the commercial organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the commercial go-to-market strategy across target markets (UK, EU, Africa, and beyond)
- Lead on hands-on sales execution from outreach and pitch to close, particularly in the early phase
- Define value propositions, pricing models, and commercial positioning for escrow and wallet services
- Build and nurture key partnerships (platforms, financial institutions, brokers, marketplaces)
- Set KPIs and sales targets aligned with overall company growth objectives
- Create scalable processes, systems, and hiring plans for building out the commercial team
- Represent the company at key industry events, investor meetings, and client-facing discussions
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and cross-functional leadership team to align strategy and execution
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience & Expertise
- 10+ years in senior commercial roles within fintech, payments, or escrow services
- Proven track record of developing and executing GTM strategies from scratch
- Strong hands-on sales experience must be comfortable leading high-value deals personally
- Deep knowledge of escrow and wallet-based payments, including regulatory and scheme compliance (FCA, FSCA, EMIs)
- Familiarity with early-stage start-up environments, ideally with prior scale-up experience
- Strong network within marketplaces, B2B services, platform providers, or digital brokerages
Skills & Attributes
- Entrepreneurial and execution-focused you take strategy from whiteboard to market
- Willing and able to sell directly until the commercial team is built
- Strong communication, pitching, and C-level negotiation skills
- Data-driven and commercially strategic, with a keen eye on ROI
