Overview
Our client manufactures intermediates for the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Speciality Chemical industries as well as many others and their team of chemists are experts in custom synthesis, contract manufacture and process optimisation.
Role duties:
- The position will require monitoring of chemical reactions and undertaking distillations, separations, transfers, filtrations, and powder handling.
- The use of vacuum systems, nitrogen and control panels will be required as will flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing processes.
- The plant has designated areas which work to GMP and understanding and following these principles is a job requirement.
Experience Required:
- You will be an experienced process operative ideally coming from a chemical manufacturing environment.
- You should have an excellent attitude towards health and safety and be familiar with COSHH and risk assessments.
- You should ideally have completed an IOSH Working Safely qualification.
- It would be beneficial for you to hold a current counter balance fork lift truck licence.
- You should possess at least GCSEs at grade 'C' or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English. A relevant vocational qualification at Level 2 or above would be advantageous.
Shift Pattern:
- The position works on the 5-shift system working 2 days/2 nights/4 off shift pattern. Each working shift is 12 hours. Day shifts are 06:00 β 18:00, night shifts are 18:00 β 06:00.
- This pattern includes weekends and most bank holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Yearβs Day.
- Every 8 week rotation there is an 18 day break with one day allocated to training. There is a 1 hour paid break during each 12 hour shift.
Benefits:
The salary for this position is Β£33,000 (which includes a shift premium). In addition to the salary they offer free life assurance cover and a generous paid sick scheme (both after a qualifying period). They also provide access to a stakeholder pension scheme, a voluntary employee medical cash benefit plan.
