About the Company
Our client are a leading international chemicals manufacturer with a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and sustainable production. Their West Bromwich site plays a critical role in delivering high-quality chemical products to customers across multiple industries. They are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to support the reliability, safety, and continuous improvement of our process operations.
Role Overview
- Instrumentation preventative, and reactive maintenance work.
- Instrumentation plant installation and modification work.
- Instrumentation calibrations work following ISO9001.
- Statutory inspections.
- The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with all works.
- Work in accordance with the company's safe systems of work and permit to work systems.
- Preferably have a good understanding of ATEX requirements, both Gas & Vapour (Ex01-04) and Dust (Ex05-06).
Qualifications/Training
- Educated to RQF level 3 (e.g. City & Guilds level 3 full course) in a practical Control/Instrumentation type discipline.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong safety mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What We Offer
- Career development will be possible with both internal and external training available. Salary is £35.3k (Normal grade) OR £37.1k (Senior grade).
- An additional payment for the Instrumentation call-in rota system (£1.7k pa retention fee, for a 1 in 4 rota, plus £75 and a minimum 4 hrs at OT rate when called) will be added once appropriate site knowledge has been obtained, circa 6 months.
- Also 25 days paid holiday (and all UK Bank Holidays).
- 40-hour working week, ½ lunch.
- Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm, paid sick scheme and free life assurance based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.
