About the role
We are looking to recruit a Trainee Field Engineer to support our customers in Dorset and West Hampshire but there may be the requirement to work on other projects across the South of England.
You will assist with planned leakage surveys developing your skills daily. You will be responsible for identifying and locating hidden leaks on our customers water mains and service pipes using both traditional and advanced leak detection techniques like sounding, correlating and acoustic logging utilising AI algorithms.
As a Trainee Field Engineer your role is crucial to maintaining our customers water supply network. You will be responsible for conducting a range of leak detection activities to resolve issues promptly. You will provide an exceptional service to our customers, recording and reporting findings.
Their Leakage Technicians are active in all weather conditions and locations, from urban to rural locations. Some locations can be busy meaning our teams occasionally start work early or work at night. You\βll be working outdoors and walking long distances daily.
They will provide you with training and support to develop in this role and will also receive a fully equipped van to carry out your daily tasks and to respond quickly to potential leakage issues. You will be required to work productively and accurately against set targets.
Please note, this role comes with a van and fuel card for business use only and the van will be kept at your home location when not in use.
About you
- You hold a full UK manual driving license.
- Experience in the water industry is not essential, the key requirement is that you are enthusiastic, have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills together with having excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
- We are seeking hard-working, flexible, and technically minded individuals who would like a role that offers variety, opportunity to work outdoors and make a real difference to us and our customers.
- You will be competent with the use of computers and Microsoft applications.
