An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Planning & Transport Lead to take ownership of transport operations at a busy production site in Westbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for a transport professional with strong leadership skills, excellent planning ability, and a Transport Manager CPC qualification to join a business that offers long term stability and career development.

The Role

  • Working closely with production teams, drivers, and suppliers, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient scheduling of deliveries and collections while maintaining full compliance with transport legislation and operational standards.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Planning and scheduling deliveries and collections across multiple locations
    • Managing daily transport operations and driver activities
    • Leading a team of drivers and transport administration staff
    • Monitoring compliance with driver hours regulations, Working Time Directive, and Operator Licence requirements
    • Coordinating vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs
    • Working closely with production teams to ensure customer demand is met
    • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
    • Managing transport-related issues and resolving operational challenges
    • Acting as a key point of contact for transport operations when required
    • Supporting workshop and fleet management activities

About You

  • To be successful in this role, you will have:
    • Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential)
    • Previous experience within transport operations
    • Strong knowledge of driver hours regulations and Working Time Directive requirements
    • Experience using Microsoft Office and transport management systems
    • Excellent communication and people management skills
    • Strong organisational and planning abilities
    • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment

Desirable experience:

  • Transport scheduling experience
  • Manufacturing, production, logistics, agriculture, feed, or FMCG environments
  • Fleet maintenance planning and compliance management
