Source Co Recruitment are proud to be recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner on behalf of a well-established and growing transport and logistics business operating across the UK and Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected logistics provider supporting customers across a variety of sectors including commercial, retail, events and specialist transport.

Salary: Starting at £30k per annum Working hours: 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday The Role As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating daily transport operations, ensuring vehicles are utilised efficiently while delivering outstanding service to customers.

No two days are the same.

One day you could be planning complex transport schedules, the next supporting drivers on the road, coordinating international movements or resolving operational challenges to ensure deliveries remain on track.

Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate UK and European transport movements.

Monitor and adjust transport schedules to meet changing customer requirements.

Allocate vehicles, trailers and drivers efficiently.

Coordinate permits, carnets, ferry crossings and double-driver requirements where necessary.

Liaise with drivers throughout live operations, providing support and resolving issues.

Maintain regular communication with customers, providing updates and managing expectations.

Obtain collection and delivery information and ensure accurate communication across the operation.

Respond quickly to delays, operational issues and customer requests.

Ensure compliance with transport legislation and industry regulations.

Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to support future business growth.

Support the wider operations team in delivering exceptional service.

Participate in out-of-hours operational support on a rota basis when required.

About You We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy transport environment and can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Essential Experience Previous experience within transport planning, logistics coordination or fleet operations.

Good understanding of transport legislation and compliance.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Experience building positive working relationships with customers, drivers and colleagues.

Desirable Experience of international transport operations.

Knowledge of carnets, permits and ferry booking procedures.

Understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet management.

Experience within specialist logistics, events or time-critical transport operations.
