An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Press Brake Setter / Operator to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Kidderminster. Working within a modern sheet metal fabrication environment, you'll be responsible for setting and operating AMADA press brake machinery, producing high-quality components to precise engineering specifications. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing accurate work while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Training will be provided on days initially before moving onto the permanent afternoon shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate AMADA press brake machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.
- Select the correct tooling and materials for each job.
- Program, adjust and fine-tune machine settings to achieve accurate bends and dimensions.
- Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring equipment.
- Ensure all finished components meet customer and quality standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and operational.
- Work to production schedules and achieve daily output targets.
- Identify and report machine, tooling or quality issues.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and maintain a tidy working environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience setting and operating AMADA press brake machines.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring equipment including verniers, callipers and angle gauges.
- Excellent attention to detail with a quality-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CNC programming experience would be advantageous.
- Forklift licence would be beneficial but not essential.
- Flexible attitude towards overtime when required.
