Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and production machinery
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime
- Deliver mechanical project work including upgrades, installations, and system improvements
- Support the integration and commissioning of new machinery
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable performance
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks (MMA and MIG) as required
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support shift operations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and project activities
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious attitude
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures and compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience with:
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding (MMA and MIG)
- Conveyors, saws, or similar heavy production machinery
- Qualified mechanical engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
