Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Double Day Shifts £43 - 48,000 per year (plus weekly production bonus and overtime opportunities) Double Shift Pattern (05:30-14:00 and 13:30-22:00), Monday to Friday Herefordshire

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and production machinery
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime
  • Deliver mechanical project work including upgrades, installations, and system improvements
  • Support the integration and commissioning of new machinery
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable performance
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks (MMA and MIG) as required
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support shift operations
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and project activities

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environment
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious attitude
  • Good knowledge of health and safety procedures and compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Welding (MMA and MIG)
    • Conveyors, saws, or similar heavy production machinery
  • Qualified mechanical engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
