We are seeking a dedicated Press Operative to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining printing presses to produce high-quality sheet metal components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in fabrication, assembly, and tooling while contributing to the production of precision-engineered products.
Hours of work:
- Monday to Thursday: 7.00am to 4:00pm
- Friday: 7.00am to 1.00pm
Responsibilities:
- Operate saws
- Break out laser cut parts
- Inspect products, evaluate finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Maintain a clean work area
- Advise Supervisor of defective tooling, jigs or fixtures or any other types of manufacturing problems that prevent production targets being achieved
- Trained in manual handling techniques and carry out safe working practices
- Any other ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, or related mechanical roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge of sheet metal processes and press operation
- Proficiency with hand tools, tooling setups, and basic math skills for measurements
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions accurately
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to manufacturing environments
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
