Project Engineer role focusing on automation, machinery, packaging, filling, sealing, bottling, and capping.
Location: Hereford with semi-regular travel to customer sites.
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience, plus discretionary bonus based on profits (usually around 5% of salary).
Benefits: 5 weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays (33 days total), 40 hours per week with an early finish on Fridays.
Requirements:
- Confident and capable Project Engineer with experience in managing multiple machinery, automation, or production line installation projects simultaneously (approximately 10 at a time, valued at £1 million and above).
- Experience in requirement gathering and taking measurements on site, liaising between customers and internal departments (sales, design, etc.), and managing the test and installation process.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently, communicating effectively with all stakeholders (customers, suppliers, internal teams), while being an integral part of the wider Projects team.
- Prior industry/machinery knowledge, such as packaging, weighing, filling, capping, labelling, sealing, or experience from handling, robotics, or plastic moulding.
- Enjoys working as part of a team in a friendly and conscientious Projects department (hybrid/flexible working available).
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop within the role and offer guidance and support to junior colleagues.
- Useful tools for success include excellent communication skills, a mechanical engineering background, an experienced commercial head, and ideally a project management qualification, such as Prince 2.
