Are you tired of the MSP whirlwind, continually asking users at various companies if they have tried switching it off and on again? Imagine a world where work/life balance is prioritised, benefits packages are taken seriously, and personal and professional development is encouraged. Sounds great right? Well, it doesn’t have to be a pipe dream! I’m working with an expanding financial consulting business that has supported deals worth £320 million this year already, looking at expanding their IT Team and ideally seeking a support engineer to join their service desk.
What you'll be doing:
This would be an internal position where every day will be different. You’ll be joining a friendly IT and infrastructure team supporting a user base approaching 600+ as part of a support team of 4 working in a 50/50 mix in support/projects on a range of tasks across 1st, 2nd and some exposure to 3rd line including onboarding new users, deploying new infrastructure, supporting the business applications and device management. You’ll be working with O365, Active Directory, Citrix, Windows Server, Intune, Power Platform etc. I can’t guarantee you’ll be entirely retiring the phrase “have you tried switching it off and on again” completely though.
What you'll need:
To excel in this role, you'll need at least 2 years of IT experience with a good understanding of Windows, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory. You'll need to be a team player with excellent communication skills, confident in working with stakeholders across all levels of the business. A general understanding of networking (LAN, WAN, DHCP, DNS) is also important. You should also have your own transport as there is some expectation to go between sites, infrequently.
Bonus points for any experience with:
- Windows Server 2019 or above.
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
- Microsoft Intune administration.
- ITIL foundation certification.
- Ivanti Workspace Control and Automation Manager.
