Ower, nr. Totton (access from Southampton, Bournemouth, Winchester, Salisbury) < £50,000 per year, depending on experience

45 hours per week on a 2-week rota (with ‘on-call’ every other week)

Week 1: Monday – Friday, 06:00 – 15:30

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, 06:00 – 15:30

About the Role

Do you have strong fault-finding skills and experience leading a team within a fast-paced engineering environment? If you’re an electrically biased Engineering professional ready to step into a leadership role within a dynamic and supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of machinery, with a strong focus on electrical systems, control panels, automation, and reactive fault diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning and execution of PPM schedules and reactive repairs
  • Take ownership of electrical fault finding, diagnostics and system improvements
  • Drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Improve equipment reliability and eliminate recurring electrical faults
  • Lead, manage and mentor a small team of Engineers
  • Participate in the on-call rota (week-on/week-off, Friday to Friday)
  • Support and manage external contractors for servicing and maintenance

Requirements

  • Strong electrical engineering background with hands-on fault-finding experience
  • Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create a positive and high-performing team culture
  • Previous experience leading or supervising an engineering team
  • Experience within food manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, or a similar industrial environment (desirable)
