SourceCo Recruitment are seeking an experienced European Freight Forwarder to join a busy and fast-paced logistics operation in Redditch. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing European freight movements from booking through to completion, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport solutions.

Salary: Up to £35k depending on experience

Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:30 Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day coordination of European freight shipments.
  • Process Import and Export customs clearance documentation where required.
  • Create and maintain job files, ensuring all paperwork and system updates are completed accurately.
  • Process shipments through the Multifreight system.
  • Liaise with customers regarding quotations, bookings, shipment updates, and problem resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate competitive transport rates.
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to provide quotations and support business opportunities.
  • Produce internal reports, analysis, and KPI statistics and complete invoicing and ensure all jobs are closed accurately.

The ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience within European freight forwarding or transport operations is essential.
  • Strong understanding of European road freight, import/export procedures, and customs documentation.
  • Experience providing quotations, negotiating rates, and managing customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Confident IT user with experience of freight management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a strong team player.
