Operations Supervisor
Location: Wokingham
Salary: £13.50 – £14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 39 hours per week + alternate Saturdays (30-minute unpaid break)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join a busy logistics environment. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring a proactive approach to warehouse operations, driver management, and customer service.
Shift Pattern:
Monday: 7:00am – 2:30pm or 11:30am – 7:00pm
Tuesday to Friday: 5:00am – 1:30pm
Saturday: 5:00am – 9:00/10:00am (rota basis – one on, one off)
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and delivery fleet. This includes supervising warehouse staff, route planning, ensuring a 98.5%+ on-time delivery performance, and occasionally covering delivery or collection routes in a van when required. The role also involves responding to customer queries via phone and email, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations including loading/unloading, parcel sortation, and driver van loading.
- Lead, motivate, and train staff to meet performance targets.
- Ensure timely and accurate despatch of all parcels.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise efficiency and meet KPI targets.
- Monitor driver performance and ensure route adherence and timely delivery.
- Respond to incoming phone calls and emails from customers, drivers, and partner depots.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders and resolve issues promptly.
- Drive company vehicles to cover collections or deliveries when needed.
- Maintain and report operational performance to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations.
