Job Description
Our client is looking for a Transport Controller.
Are you an experienced Transport Controller who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business where you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day transport operations.
Job Overview
·Handle 100-150 calls and emails daily, delivering excellent service.
·Accurately book jobs onto the system.
·Use the ACI system for scheduling and updates.
·Monitor and support drivers and customers during on-call weeks.
·Coordinate daily transport schedules to ensure deliveries/collections run smoothly.
·Allocate jobs to drivers and manage vehicle availability.
·Monitor driver performance, compliance, and route planning.
·Communicate with drivers throughout the day to resolve issues.
·Liaise with customers to provide updates and resolve queries.
·Maintain accurate records and documentation.
·Support operational efficiency and escalate issues when needed.
Skills & Experience Required
·Previous experience in a Transport Coordinator or scheduling role (essential).
·Strong knowledge of logistics/transport operations.
·Excellent telephone manner and confident communicator.
·Computer literate, with knowledge of MS Office and email systems.
·Ability to manage a high-volume workload and multitask effectively.
·Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive.
