Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join their team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing fire detection and security systems, ensuring the safety and security of clients' properties. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in fire and security systems and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan detection and security systems based on client needs and industry standards.
  • Install and configure fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and other security devices.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fire and security systems efficiently.
  • Provide training and support to clients on system usage and management.
  • Stay updated on advancements in fire and security technology and recommend system improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Support the Service Desk with technical issues.
  • Act as a point of contact for manufacturers to resolve client issues.
  • Be the on-site point of contact for key accounts and ensure successful job delivery.
  • Address faults and resolve complaints efficiently while maintaining communication with the office.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Service Desk.
  • Complete job cards within 24 hours of a site visit, ensuring detailed reports.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy company vehicle at all times.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality service.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. FIA, NSI) are desirable.
  • Proficiency in installation, maintenance, and repair of fire and security systems.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • Strong decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace.
