A new digital marketplace is looking for a Commercial Lead to test commercial assumptions and design and deliver a sales outreach programme. This role will lead buyer engagement and commercial activity. You will design and run a structured sales outreach programme, engage early buyers, and bring commercial discipline, visibility, and insight to an emerging and exploratory market.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a sales outreach programme aligned to objectives
- Identify, test, and refine buyer segments and personas through direct market engagement
- Engage and qualify priority buyers; lead early commercial discussions and negotiations
- Build and maintain sales tracking, pipeline reporting, and forecasting
- Provide clear, regular reporting on buyer activity and commercial risk
- Work with technical, content supply, and finance colleagues to support onboarding, pricing, and delivery
- Capture structured buyer feedback to inform product, pricing, and platform decisions
About You
- Strong experience in B2B sales, business development, or commercial roles, ideally in technology, data, or platform businesses
- Proven ability to build and manage sales pipelines with structure and clear reporting
- Comfortable defining buyer segments and value propositions in ambiguous or early-stage markets
- Confident communicator and negotiator with strong relationship-management skills
Desirable
- Experience with marketplaces, data platforms, or licensing models
