We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to shape and deliver the next generation of AI-enabled products and platforms within a highly complex, data-rich environment. This role sits within a growing innovation-focused engineering team responsible for building intelligent systems that improve business processes, automate knowledge work, and unlock new opportunities through applied AI. You will play a key role in defining technical direction, establishing engineering best practices, and leading the design and delivery of production-grade AI solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the design and development of AI-powered products and internal platforms.
- Translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
- Design and implement production-ready AI applications and intelligent workflows.
- Drive architecture decisions across cloud-native platforms and services.
- Establish engineering standards, governance, and best practices.
- Partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions to identify opportunities for automation and innovation.
- Guide and mentor engineers, consultants, and technical contributors.
- Support the responsible adoption of AI technologies within a regulated environment.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve delivery velocity and product capability.
Technology Environment
The team works with a modern engineering and AI stack including: Python, OpenAI and LLM technologies, Cloud-native platforms, Serverless architectures, Vector databases, Knowledge repositories, Modern data engineering tooling, AI-enabled development tools and workflows.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Strong software engineering background with advanced Python development skills.
- Experience designing and delivering cloud-native applications.
- Experience building and deploying AI-enabled products into production environments.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience working with APIs, data pipelines, and modern engineering practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking capabilities.
Highly Desirable Experience
- Experience working with OpenAI APIs and LLM-based applications.
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
