We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with a strong quantitative or analytical background to help build and evolve a global analytics platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of software engineering, data, and applied mathematics, and who is comfortable reasoning about complex systems, models, and workflows. The role has a balanced 50/50 split between C#/.NET backend development and React frontend development, and sits within a highly collaborative analytics team. You will work closely with traders, analysts and operations teams to design and deliver systems that turn large, complex datasets into actionable insights. This is a hands‑on engineering role rather than a purely UI or purely mathematical position, but a quantitative mindset and strong problem‑solving skills are essential.

Key Details

  • Industry: Financial Services
  • Location: London, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and enhance end‑to‑end analytics applications using C#/.NET on the backend and React on the frontend.
  • Work across the full development lifecycle, from concept and modelling through to implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate directly with business users (traders, operators, analysts) to translate quantitative requirements and workflows into robust software solutions.
  • Build performant, maintainable APIs and services that support data‑heavy and computation‑focused use cases.
  • Develop intuitive, data‑driven user interfaces that expose complex logic and datasets in a clear, usable way.
  • Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions within a highly skilled global team.
  • Deliver high‑quality, well‑tested code under time pressure while maintaining a strong focus on correctness and performance.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a similarly quantitative discipline, or Computer Science (or closely related).
  • Up to 10 years of professional experience in software development (typically 4–9 years).
  • Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET (ASP.NET Core, Web APIs), building backend services for enterprise or analytical systems.
  • Strong experience with React and modern frontend development, with the ability to build clean, maintainable, data‑driven UIs.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computational problem‑solving.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Comfortable reasoning about numerical data, models, edge cases, and correctness.
  • Experience working in agile/scrum environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage directly with technically minded and non‑technical stakeholders.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience in quantitative, trading, commodities, or financial systems.
  • Exposure to messaging or event‑driven architectures (Kafka).
  • Experience with Reactive Extensions (Rx), async workflows, or concurrency‑heavy systems.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL or gRPC.
  • Background in building systems that support analytics, optimisation, or decision‑support use cases.

What We’re Looking For

A developer who enjoys thinking deeply about problems, not just implementing tickets. Someone comfortable working with complex data and business logic, even if they are not a pure quant. A balanced engineer who values both backend correctness and frontend clarity. A pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
