A SEND Teaching Assistant will work in a Sheffield based school that caters for young people aged 16‑19 with severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties within the Post 16 setting. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be working with young people with Special Educational Needs such as Autistic Spectrum conditions, Speech and Language difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge. You will promote independence and support them within the community.
This role requires an engaging, proactive, adaptable, resilient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with great communication skills and a desire to make a difference in young people’s lives. The role also involves supporting with personal care, toileting and changing. An up-to-date Moving and handling/hoist training certificate is desirable but not essential. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that has a young‑centred approach in all they do. The school works tirelessly to make sure each of its pupils reach their potential.
