Source Supply are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming mainstream primary school, supporting pupils within our Integrated Resource Unit. This role involves working closely with children who have additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, autism, and/or learning differences
- Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver tailored support and interventions
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Assist with personal care where required
- Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress
- Have experience working with children with additional needs (school-based or similar setting preferred)
- Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be proactive, flexible, and committed to inclusive education
Requirements
- Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
- A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
- Have referenceable experience working in a school setting
- Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive
- Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
- Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle
