Source Solutions are working with a very successful organisation, trusted brand and reputable employer in Portsmouth, who work on the cutting edge of technology and engineering, to recruit a highly experienced and forward-thinking Head of Health and Safety on a permanent basis at their main site in Portsmouth, working to company, UK and relevant international standards.
The Head of Health and Safety is a role with a great deal of responsibility across a vast and high-tech premises, comprising numerous buildings and sections as well as a vast range of manufacturing processes, with a workforce of around 300 and thus requires someone with an extensive track record in relevant leadership.
You will be responsible for leading the organisation's strategy and implementation of health and safety management across all UK operations. The role is also for someone who can develop the company from an environmental perspective, giving the right candidate the opportunity to affect real change and drive improvements in this key area.
As a member of the Site Leadership Team, the Head of Health and Safety will report to Board level and line manage a small team of professionals, developing and mentoring where necessary - as well as advising and mentoring the wider business on HSE matters, empowering process owners, managers and front-line employees.
The company are an electronics manufacturer, who work to exceptionally high standards of quality and reliability and whose products operate in numerous highly-regulated, critical and hazardous environments including: Defence, automotive, aviation, space, UAV and medical.
- Extensive track record of Health and Safety in a senior leadership position
- Strong understanding and some experience of Environmental
- Experience of electronics and/or advanced-manufacturing
- Excellent leadership and influencing skills, including driving cultural change
- Experience of environments encompassing a wide range of engineering processes
- Proven track record in implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) qualification
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) preferred but not essential
