Salary: Up to UK 120,000Industry: Financial Services (Investor Services)The Role An opportunity has arisen for an Architect & Senior Developer within the IT function of an Investor Services business in the City of London.

You will design and deliver high-quality software solutions across the firm’s trading, operational and regulatory landscape, with a focus on enhancing in-house systems and integrating front, middle and back office platforms.

You will define and evolve solution architecture to ensure scalability, performance and alignment with architectural principles and best practices.

Working closely with product owners, stakeholders and engineers, you will translate requirements into secure, maintainable code and ensure robust, well-documented releases.

Your Responsibilities Oversee architecture across trading, clearing and post-trade systems, including integrations with CCPs, exchanges, data/platform vendors and customers.

Direct modernisation of integration patterns and frameworks, reinforcing strong security principles and practices.

Steer data architecture strategy: data quality, ownership, security and accessibility.

Chair architecture governance forums, driving timely, effective architectural decisions.

Produce architecture documentation, architectural decision records, target-state blueprints and audit-ready artefacts.

Design resilient systems meeting RTO/RPO requirements and FCA operational resilience obligations.

Meet regulatory obligations by design (FCA/ESMA EMIR & Mi FID II, DORA and other relevant global obligations).

Contribute to change management and incident management frameworks.

Mentor and upskill engineering teams on architecture principles, cloud-native patterns and best practice.

Drive adoption of Dev Sec Ops and infrastructure-as-code; support governance of AI usage to ensure secure, explainable and compliant solutions.

Your Profile Degree in Computer Science (or related) preferred; 10+ years’ experience with 3+ years in a senior architecture role.

Expertise in .

NET/C#/SQL Server; React. js and Python desirable.

Deep domain knowledge of financial markets technology (FCM, clearing broker, investment bank, exchange or vendor).

Proven experience designing systems for listed derivatives, securities and/or FX processing.

Strong understanding of order processing, execution, risk management, margining, collateral, valuation and give-up processing.

Strong knowledge of FIX protocol and CCP/vendor connectivity (e. g.

ICE Clearing, Eurex, LME, CME).

Extensive experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka and/or IBM MQ, and real-time data pipelines.

Knowledge of regulatory frameworks: EMIR, Mi FID II, CASS, MAR, DORA, CFTC.

Microservices, containerisation and cloud architecture expertise (preferably Azure) for regulated workloads.

Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite and technical stakeholders.
