We're looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Lead to lead our platform capability and enable engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable and scalable software. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining people management with technical leadership. You'll manage a team of three Platform Engineers while acting as the technical lead for a wider team of five engineers, setting technical direction, coaching engineers and driving platform excellence.
You'll have started your career as a software developer - ideally with a Java background - and progressed into Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Kubernetes-focused roles. You'll be passionate about treating infrastructure as a product, improving the developer experience and using automation to simplify software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of three Platform Engineers.
- Provide technical leadership for a wider team of five engineers, defining standards and best practices.
- Design and evolve a secure, scalable cloud platform with a focus on developer experience.
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps and observability.
- Work closely with engineering teams to improve platform adoption, reliability and software delivery.
- Balance strategic planning with hands-on technical leadership where required.
