Major Capital Deployment Programme (£0.75m–£3m per project)
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the post‑contract commercial management of a large, fast‑paced portfolio of capital projects. This is a senior, influential role where you’ll provide commercial leadership across the business, managing risk, cost, and profitability while working closely with Operations, Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Development teams.
Location: The location of the role is flexible, offered as Field-Based within the UK, although the position holder will be required to travel to the London Office in Canary Wharf on an occasional basis, or as may be required by the business.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of the commercial function across 250–300 hub deployments, each with a capital value between £0.75m–£3m, operating in a highly visible, strategic environment. This role offers genuine scope to:
- Shape commercial strategy
- Influence senior stakeholders
- Drive value and protect margin across a national portfolio
Key Responsibilities
- Lead post‑contract commercial management across multiple live projects
- Set up and manage CVRs, cost reporting, POAPs, and forecasting
- Manage EPC and subcontract packages under NEC / JCT / FIDIC contracts
- Review tenders, BoQs, rates, and cost estimates
- Prepare and review monthly applications, payment certificates, and cashflow
- Control variations, change notices, and delay claims
- Identify and deliver commercial value‑add opportunities
- Support final account negotiations and post‑completion appraisals
- Flag disputes early and liaise with Legal where required
- Support monthly Project Review Boards and problem‑project recovery
- Provide portfolio‑level commercial reporting on risk and profitability
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role
- Degree or recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT, and/or FIDIC contracts
- Excellent financial control, forecasting, and cost management skills
- Confident negotiator with strong commercial judgement.

Working Pattern: This role is offered on Full-Time basis of 37 hours per week, 5 days per week Monday to Friday. Whilst this role requires consistent hours due to operational demands, we are open to discussing options in accordance with our ‘Flexible First’ guidelines.
