About the Role: The Project Manager at Source EV is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects, from early feasibility and development through design, construction, commissioning, and handover into operations. The role combines project delivery, commercial and contract management, governance, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring projects are delivered safely, to programme, to the required quality standard, and in a commercially viable manner. The role reports to the Lead Project Manager.

Location: The role is Field Based in the Midlands region of the UK. Occasional travel to our London office in Canary Wharf and other locations in the UK is required in line with business operations and requirements.

What you will be Doing:

  • Health, Safety, Sustainability, Security & Environment (H3SE)
    • Lead a safety-first and environmentally responsible culture across all assigned projects.
    • Ensure compliance with all H3SE legislation, Source EV policies, client requirements, and industry best practice.
    • Actively contribute to maintaining a TRIR through proactive planning, hazard identification, and intervention.
    • Ensure suitable risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), permits, and security controls are in place prior to works commencing.
    • Monitor sustainability and environmental controls on site, including waste management and environmental protection measures.
    • Participate in incident, near-miss, and security investigations, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Ensure contractors and suppliers operate in line with Source EV’s H3SE standards and expectations.
  • End-to-End Project Delivery
    • Manage EV charging infrastructure projects through the full project lifecycle, including feasibility and early development, design coordination, procurement, construction and installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
    • Develop and maintain robust project programmes, managing interfaces, dependencies, and constraints.
    • Coordinate internal teams, consultants, DNOs, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective delivery.
    • Ensure projects achieve agreed scope, time, cost, safety, and quality outcomes.
  • Quality Management
    • Ensure delivery in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, and quality standards.
    • Monitor workmanship and installation quality throughout construction.
    • Manage inspections, snagging, defect resolution, and project close-out.
    • Ensure complete and accurate handover documentation, including as-built records, test certificates, and commissioning data.
    • Promote a right-first-time approach across the project lifecycle.
  • Governance, Controls & Reporting
    • Deliver projects in line with Source EV’s project governance framework.
    • Present the governance gates showcasing the opportunity to the Source EV directors and senior stakeholders.
    • Maintain effective project controls, including programmes, cost trackers, risk registers, and decision logs.
    • Provide regular, accurate reporting on H3SE, quality, cost, programme, and risk.
    • Escalate material risks, incidents, or deviations promptly to the Lead Project Manager.
  • Stakeholder, Landowner & Contractor Management
    • Act as the day-to-day interface with landowners, clients, landlords, local authorities, utilities, and third parties.
    • Support landowner engagement activities to enable agreement of lease terms and site access, working alongside internal and external advisors as required.
    • Chair site and progress meetings and coordinate contractor activities.
    • Communicate clearly and professionally to manage expectations and resolve delivery issues.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving Source EV development and delivery processes and standards.
    • Share best practice across the project management community.
    • Support consistent, repeatable delivery across the project portfolio.
  • Decision Making & Accountability
    • Accountable for the safe, compliant, and successful delivery of assigned projects.
    • Authority to manage day-to-day project decisions within approved scope, cost, and programme.
    • Responsible for escalating material risks, commercial impacts, or H3SE concerns to the Lead Project Manager.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Essential Experience
    • Proven experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects end-to-end, ideally within EV, utilities, or energy-related sectors.
    • Strong understanding of H3SE leadership, including health, safety, sustainability, environmental management, and site security.
    • Demonstrable experience contributing to low TRIR performance.
    • Strong quality focus with experience managing inspections, defects, and technical compliance.
    • Practical experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, including early warnings and compensation events.
    • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, contractors, and change control.
    • Strong planning, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Desirable Experience
    • Delivering EV charging infrastructure or similar electrical / civil works.
    • Familiarity with DNO connections, ICPs, and energisation processes.
    • Additional project management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP, APM PMQ).
    • NEC accreditation or formal NEC contract training.

Qualifications Training

  • SMSTS (or commitment to obtain shortly after appointment).
  • EUSR or CSCS card appropriate to site activities.
  • APMP (Association for Project Management Practitioner Qualification) or equivalent.

Compensation package: We offer a competitive salary & entitlements, plus excellent healthcare, pension, car allowance and wellbeing benefits, along with generous Life Insurance & Group Income Protection Insurance. Annual holiday of 26 days contractual leave, plus bank holidays (34 days in total), with enhanced maternity/paternity leave and benefits.
