Source Electrical Services is seeking an Experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join our team. This full-time position involves both office-based and on-site work, overseeing projects from conception to completion. While the role is primarily contract management-focused, the ideal candidate will also assist with estimating. Some travel and working away will be necessary, as projects are based both locally and nationally.
We are looking for a proactive and highly organized professional who can work autonomously, demonstrating excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing electrical contracts from initial concept through to project completion, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
- Preparing tenders and quotations based on specifications and drawings.
- Identifying new work opportunities within existing contracts and managing variations and costings.
- Conducting risk assessments and method statements.
- Sourcing and procuring materials.
- Scheduling and allocating labour in collaboration with the team.
- Overseeing health and safety compliance on-site alongside the site supervisor.
- Managing subcontractors and other trades.
- Handling test certification and project documentation.
- Providing O&M (Operation & Maintenance) support.
- Acting as the primary liaison with customers.
- Conducting post-project evaluations.
- Supporting the Managing Director in estimating projects up to £500,000.
- Pricing electrical aspects of projects, including motors, controls, instrumentation, cabling, and containment.
- Conducting site assessments and identifying risks or potential issues.
- Attending project handover meetings to clarify project scope, estimates, and key details.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Contracts Manager role within the electrical industry.
- Proven track record of delivering technical solutions and costings for large industrial projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and experience in preparing RAMS documentation.
- Full (preferably clean) UK driving licence.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Confident and effective communicator, capable of presenting to Senior Managers and Directors.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Experience using CAD software for editing electrical drawings (advantageous but not essential).
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- 40-hour working week - Core Hours 8am-5pm with 1 hour for lunch.
- 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with service.
