THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-established business based in Stafford, currently seeking an experienced Part‑time Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team. The role will be based at their offices on the Stafford Technology Park.
THE ROLE
This is a permanent, part‑time Bookkeeping position within a forward‑thinking and supportive organisation. The hours are flexible to promote a positive work‑life balance, and free on‑site parking is available.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage monthly payroll, including pension submissions
- Post and reconcile prepayments and accruals
- Prepare and review the trial balance
- Manage sales and purchase invoicing
- Support debt recovery and manage arrears
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare aged debtor and monthly revenue reports
- Match bookings to bank receipts
- Post journals and assist with VAT returns
- Monitor business rates and council tax accounts
- Undertake general administrative duties, including mailbox scanning, holiday tracking, and supplier checks
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
- Proficiency in accounting software — Xero experience is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, bookkeeping, and general accounting principles
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication skills
- A relevant finance or accounting qualification is advantageous but not essential
