The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, independence, and problem-solving. No two days are the same in this field-based role, where you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and supporting a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment across the South. You’ll be trusted to work independently while receiving full support from an experienced and knowledgeable service team behind the scenes. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys delivering excellent customer service, and wants to be part of a business that genuinely values its engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out efficient mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise customer downtime.
- Complete routine inspections and thorough examinations.
- Deliver professional and reliable customer service at all times.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a field service engineering role.
- Experience working on forklifts, plant equipment, HGVs, agricultural machinery, or similar equipment would be highly beneficial.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience.
- LOLER & PUWER Thorough Examination certification desirable.
- Positive attitude with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Full UK driving licence required.
