About the Role We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker / Grinder to join our clients busy engineering team in Ash Vale.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled manual/CNC machinist or toolroom engineer with a strong background in precision grinding to work within a well-established manufacturing environment.
Working a 39-hour week with an early finish every Friday, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality precision components to exact customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.

- Cylindrical grinding
- Bore/Internal grinding
- Ring grinding
- Honing
- Working to fine tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Using precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Meeting production schedules and customer deadlines while maintaining quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a manual/CNC machinist, toolmaker or toolroom engineer
- Strong grinding experience across a range of precision grinding processes
- The ability to work to tight tolerances
- Confidence reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- This position would suit someone who is apprentice trained or has gained equivalent qualifications through extensive hands-on experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

- Competitive salary of £33,000 - £39,000, depending on experience
- 39-hour working week
- Early finish every Friday (1:15pm)
* Overtime available
- Weekdays paid at 1.3x basic hourly rate
- Weekends paid at 1.5x basic hourly rate
- 25 days' annual leave, with some holidays taken during the Christmas shutdown
