We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager on a permanent basis for our client based in Uxbridge. The main purpose of this role is to direct, manage and develop the key operations and distribution function within the business and ensure smooth and effective transition of customer fulfilment from sales to warehouse departments.

8am - 5.30pm
£50,000 - £55,000

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear communication between all departments to ensure customers’ orders are effectively fulfilled
  • Create and monitor a shared outlook calendar to schedule large deliveries and sales orders
  • Liaise with purchasing department to ensure BOM (including cabinets) are available for stock or at agreed times
  • Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse departments to ensure effective stock management systems including rolling and annual stock checks
  • Coordinate with warehouse manager to ensure suitable binning/racking for existing and new product lines
  • Ensure all customer service issues are followed up and actioned with necessary process put in place as raised during the customer service meetings
  • Liaise with warehouse manager to provide effective delivery transportation including use of Van, carriers and couriers
  • Coordinate with purchasing manager to ensure a suitable system for cost effective disposal of redundant stock, i.e. Ebay, etc
  • Oversee cost effective management of labour across all departments and resources to ensure overtime is kept to a minimum
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse manager planning of goods-in to provide appropriate manpower to cover continuous and domestic UK deliveries
  • Coordinate with the management team to ensure all staff are appropriately trained to be multi-skilled in all operations
  • Direct, manage and develop operational objectives in conjunction with the company’s planning arrangements
  • Reconcile variances between actual and recorded stock
  • Recommend appropriate action to manage damaged stock
  • Maintain first class housekeeping standards
  • Implement and recommend procedures to ensure the security of stock
  • Ensure the safe upkeep of equipment used for materials handling
  • Ensuring compliance with the latest rules and procedures on health, safety and the environment
  • Produce and monitor departmental budgets and plans
  • Plan activities according to resources and agreed budgets
  • Produce monthly management information reports
  • Produce ad hoc reports for reporting and analysis
