Do you thrive on building positive relationships and delivering excellent face-to-face customer service?

At Community Gateway Association, we\’re looking for someone with the right attitude and a passion for people to join us as a Tenancy Visiting Officer on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time basis. You don\’t need direct experience in a similar role—what matters most is that you share our company values, are approachable, and are committed to supporting our tenants and communities through meaningful, in-person engagement.

Our Visiting Officer will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, customer focused service with responsibility for identifying safeguarding concerns, tenancy breaches or service requests by visiting customers in their homes. This will be carried out through a combination of in-person visits and telephone contacts.

You\’ll be a supportive, active and effective member of the team contributing to team spirit, be an ambassador of our company values, proactively support the delivery of our team\’s and wider CGA objectives, ensuring that CGA maintains a positive reputation and strong local impact. As our Visiting Officer, you will have a primary objective to contribute to tenant sustainability.

Who We\’re Looking For

  • A positive and practical approach to supporting others, with a focus on providing a helpful and respectful service.
  • The ability to build trust and work well with people from different backgrounds and experiences.
  • A curious mindset—you ask thoughtful questions to understand what someone really needs.
  • A commitment to our values and behaviours, which guide how we work together and support our communities.
  • Experience in a role where you\’ve worked directly with customers or members of the public.
  • Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with others, both in writing and in person.
  • Comfortable making decisions and explaining your reasoning, while also being open to feedback.
  • Able to organise your tasks, manage your time, and work independently as well as with others.
  • Confident using IT systems to input, find, and manage information accurately.
  • You\’ll need a full driving licence and access to a car, as this role involves visiting different locations.

It would be great if you also had (but not essential!):

  • Experience working in social housing or a similar setting that supports people in the community.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C / 4 or above.

Why work at Community Gateway?

Our team are what makes us who we are. We aim for a great employee experience and that includes offering a range of benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, your birthday off, Christmas closure, free parking, free breakfasts, a health cash-plan, reward and recognition scheme and much more.

Inclusion is key for us. We would love to hear from people from diverse backgrounds for this role, and second languages come in handy.

This role is community based working in and around Preston, but your main place of work will be our gorgeous dockside offices in Preston. We offer flexibility wherever we possible can to accommodate both your personal and business needs. This will be discussed further at interview stage where relevant.

Dates For Your Diary

The closing date for this advert is Wednesday 23rd July with interviews expected to be held on Tuesday 29th July 2025. Alternative interview dates & times will be reviewed and offered where appropriate and at CGA\’s sole discretion based on business requirements and availability.
