Soudal (UK) Ltd, one of its main subsidiaries with a turnover of over ÂŁ90 million and close to 90 staff, located in Tamworth B77 5PN, is looking for a Stock Controller, reporting to Supply Chain Manager.
Main Purpose of the Job
The Warehouse Stock Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory records and effective stock control within the warehouse. The role manages the full booking-in process for deliveries, investigates and resolves stock discrepancies, and handles returns in a timely and professional manner. Acting as a key point of contact for customers, transport partners, and internal departments, the role supports smooth warehouse operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
- Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts, reconciliations, and stock audits.
- Investigate, analyse, and resolve stock discrepancies and perform stock corrections.
- Manage booking in of all incoming and returned goods in WMS/ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
- Arrange returns, manage rework of damaged goods, and ensure correct disposal processes.
- Communicate with customers regarding returns and enquiries via phone and email.
- Liaise with 3PL partners, Customer Service, Sales, and internal warehouse teams.
- Raise customer credits in SAP where required.
- Identify and implement improvements in stock control processes.
- Support and mentor junior staff and assist with onboarding of new employees.
Minimum Requirements
- 5 years' experience in stock control, inventory, or customer serviceârelated roles.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Office; SAP or ERP/WMS experience preferred.
- Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Calm under pressure, proactive, and solution oriented.
- Team player with the ability to work cross functionally.
