This role will report to the Global Head of Social Media & Editorial, working closely with the global Video and Social Media teams, Marketing, and Specialist departments. Responsibilities:
- Shoot and edit compelling video content for Sotheby’s social media channels.
- Interview our specialists and ensure we capture them as their best, most engaging selves.
- Edit clips from Sotheby’s long‑form videos with an eye for the most salient moments and content hooks.
- Continuously experiment with formats, narrative structures, and editing styles (e.g., archival b‑roll and graphic overlays) to discover what resonates most strongly with the audiences on each social channel.
- Identify trending or new content formats to drive growth and engagement with Sotheby’s on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, etc.
- Maintain cross‑functional alignment, clear communication, flawless integration and timely execution of programs with internal leadership.
Ideal Experience & Competencies:
- Minimum three years of experience creating and editing social media video.
- Expertise with key products in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, and familiarity with After Effects).
- Proven track record of engaging, efficient and highly shareable, thumb‑stopping video content.
- Knowledge of latest formatting for video content across major social platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Analytical and highly curious and creative, continually striving to improve his/her skills in the constantly evolving digital and media space.
- Understands social media reporting and how to apply data insights to future content.
- Possesses strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous priorities.
- Outstanding attention to detail, with a commitment to operational excellence.
- Collaborative and able to work cross‑functionally across various levels of colleagues at the firm, building appropriate rapport, using diplomacy and tact.
