Soteria Children\’s Services, Scarcliffe House.
Scarcliffe House is a therapeutic Children’s Home that has been given Ofsted Registration. They can support up to 5 children with Learning Disability and Autism. The children and young people may have additional diagnosis including but not inclusive of, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Demand Avoidance, Obsessiveness, ADHD, and behavioural difficulties. The Children and Young People are aged between 7 and 17 years of age.
Residential Support Worker
Langwith – Derbyshire
Full Time – Permanent
The purpose of this role is to assist in the effective day to day running of Scarcliffe House Residential Children’s Home.
You will:
- Be ensuring the safeguarding, care, and welfare needs of the children, young people and their families.
- Support children and young people on an individual basis, working within specific elements of an assessment of needs package with other professionals/agencies and in a manner which respects their dignity, promotes development of their independence and overall quality of life.
- Assist children/young people to develop their social and personal skills providing encouragement and support both within the home and the community.
- Prepare and serve meals for children/young people and staff.
- Be aware of organisational policies and procedures at all times.
- It is essential you are able to drive and have a full UK driving licence as this role requires you to transport the children to and from school and in the community using the company\’s vehicles.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Residential or Support Worker, with a strong understanding of the needs of children and young people
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage effectively with children, young people, and colleagues
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
- Ability to provide technical support related to residential care tasks and responsibilities
- Patience, empathy, and a solution-focused approach to working in a dynamic environment
- Relevant certifications or training in childcare, social work, psychology, or related fields are desirable
