A leading European media and entertainment organisation is looking for an Android Mobile Developer to help build and scale mobile applications used by millions of customers across streaming, sports, and digital entertainment platforms. You will work within a high-performing product engineering team responsible for developing innovative consumer applications across mobile and connected entertainment platforms. The role focuses on building scalable, high-quality Android applications while contributing to technical decisions and engineering best practices. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale consumer apps in a fast-paced product environment where technology, user experience, and entertainment converge.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Build scalable, maintainable, and well-tested mobile codebases.
- Contribute to engineering standards and coding best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, backend, and platform engineers.
- Participate in architectural discussions to ensure scalable mobile solutions.
- Integrate mobile applications with APIs, GraphQL services, and backend systems.
- Support and maintain mobile services, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Continuously explore new tools, libraries, and technologies to improve development efficiency.
- Share knowledge within engineering guilds and contribute to internal development communities.
Requirements
- Experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
- Strong knowledge of the Android SDK and mobile development best practices.
- Experience designing responsive UI for phone and tablet screen sizes.
- Understanding of SOLID principles and mobile design patterns.
- Experience with modern development practices including CI/CD pipelines, software architecture principles, monitoring and observability.
- Experience integrating with REST APIs, GraphQL, and backend services.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills in cross-functional teams.
