Assistant Merchandiser – Wholesale and Concessions

We have an amazing opportunity for someone equally as amazing to join our growing team as an Assistant Merchandiser within our wholesale and concessions team.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the most established and recognised brands out there! Including Next, John Lewis, M&S and Very.

What you’ll be doing

  • Updating Monday Trading reports and distributing to wider Buying and Merchandising team and Directors.
  • Participate and present in trade meetings, confidently outlining previous trading periods performance vs KPIs and merchandising measures.
  • Participating in trade calls, in-person visits, and assisting or leading with email queries by understanding trade reports and KPI’s Sosandar is measured on to support own career progression.
  • Making sure Trainee Merchandiser is keeping all systems or reporting up to date with all amendments and new intake dates.
  • Use commercial knowledge to manage and support Trainee in identifying styles needing replenishment based on weeks cover, seasonality, and bestsellers.

Use initiative to offer alternatives to promote reactive trading with partner.

  • Highlighting opportunity/risk from sales reports and analysis and suggesting solutions to issues that arise.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key account holders to ensure smooth running of each partner.
  • Highlight to the Merchandiser any lateness or rolling intake and suggest actions to take from this.
  • Take ownership of tracking intake for key launches and provide updates to the wider teams.
  • Forecasting intake to partners based on product availability, warehouse capabilities and expected intake windows.
  • Managing the end-to-end process of getting our products to our trading partners. Inclusive of sharing any product data or set up information with our partners.
  • Producing ad-hoc analysis to ensure sales maximised.
  • Working cross functionally with the internal product teams and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery to each of the external sites.
  • Use initiative and/or collaborate with AM counterpart/the wider team to drive efficiencies and improvements to department processes.
  • Assisting with the updating of the WSSI and taking ownership of ensuring actions are rolled out if needed.
  • Support the development of Trainees within the team by stepping into a mentor role and supporting development through training and feedback.

  • Relevant experience in an assistant or established trainee merchandising position.
  • Strong communicator and able to build relationships both internally and externally.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload.
  • Strong attention to detail/eye for accuracy.
  • Proactive and adaptable.
