The Role

This position is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy and consistency of our 24/7 global security intelligence content. As an Editor at International SOS you will work with Medical I&A and consulting solutions to ensure a high quality of output. In addition to editing content to the highest standards, you will draft short advisories to notify clients of breaking security events worldwide. You will also provide high-quality editorial support to security intelligence operations by guiding reporting priorities and contributing to the development and training of Security Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and publish security and other content in line with Editorial Quality and service delivery standards.
  • Draft short advisories to notify clients of breaking security events worldwide.
  • Edit and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of security consulting products as required.
  • Ensure consistency of security content against global and country thresholds and across membership service lines.
  • Maintain daily reporting schedules and shift records.
  • Provide high-quality editorial support to the security operations, including helping to guide reporting consistency, priorities and coverage.
  • Support the development and training of Security Specialists and ensure they receive regular editorial feedback in line with established editorial quality standards.
  • Assist in responding to client queries / feedback on security content as required.
  • Provide expert editorial input and oversight of multiple types of content, including written and multimedia deliverables.

Requirements

  • High proficiency at copy editing and proofreading.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Significant editorial experience ideally in a news or current affairs environment.
  • Strong understanding of global security issues.
  • Experience implementing quality management programmes and delivering measurable improvements.
  • Experience of writing for a business audience.
  • Strong MS Office software skills; experienced user of content management systems.
  • International experience an advantage; ability to work with diverse cross-cultural teams.
  • Multimedia and content development experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in journalism, politics or international relations or a related field.
  • Excellent English language skills; other languages an advantage.
