This is a hands‑on role leading the day‑to‑day operation of Willowtree Marina, combining facilities management, property maintenance, marina operations, health and safety compliance, contractor coordination and customer service. You will be equally responsible for carrying out practical maintenance tasks on site as you are for overseeing operational performance and ensuring the marina is presented to a consistently high standard at all times. You will report to the Estates team and work closely with colleagues across the wider business.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will lead all marina operations, ensuring the site is safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard.
- Take ownership of mooring occupancy, managing enquiries, viewings and customer conversions to maximise occupancy and revenue.
- Manage health and safety processes, including risk assessments, safety inspections, incident reporting and compliance records.
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and general upkeep across the marina and its facilities.
- Develop and oversee planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Coordinate contractors and specialist suppliers undertaking maintenance and servicing works.
- Conduct regular inspections of pontoons, infrastructure, utilities and communal facilities.
- Manage CCTV, ANPR and site security systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for moorers, visitors and commercial tenants.
- Administer mooring agreements, renewals, payments and customer communications.
- Maintain marina facilities, including toilets, showers, laundry and communal areas, to a high standard.
- Oversee diesel dispensing, pump‑out facilities and utility services, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Ensure all marina facilities, communal areas, grounds and pontoons are maintained to a consistently high standard of presentation.
- Manage stock levels and order operational supplies and consumables.
About you:
- Proven experience in facilities management, estate management, operations management or marina management.
- Strong practical maintenance skills, with the ability to undertake basic repairs and fault‑finding.
- Experience of managing contractors and coordinating maintenance programmes.
- A sound understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance requirements and risk management.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to manage occupancy levels and support customer retention.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and make sound operational decisions.
- A willingness to work in a hands‑on outdoor environment.
