We are looking for an experienced and ambitious professional to develop our UK public sector practice from the ground up. Role Overview
Your role will be instrumental in developing Sorai\’s UK public sector consulting services from the ground-up. This role involves:
Strategising and executing plans to grow the public sector practice: You are able to bring your past experience and a deep understanding of this sector to determine a clear approach and roadmap for the practice.Identifying and shaping the core proposition for Sorai’s public sector offering: Along with the other partners, you are able to develop the core business offering to secure partnerships and opportunities in this sector.Building and nurturing relationships with government, vendors and partners: You have excellent business development skills to build a network and can leverage your existing network to create opportunities for partnerships on projects.Leading the preparation and submission of proposals in response to government tenders: You are hands-on and can develop proposals and provide your expertise and guidance to the teams ensuring the work is delivered to high standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills: You are able to communicate clearly and can influence and build relationships at all levels.
Experience Requirements
- Demonstrated success in business development and leading digital engagements in the public sector is a must
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within public sector, leading programmes of work, developing and shaping proposals and opportunities
- An in-depth understanding of UK government procurement processes and frameworks, including the G-Cloud framework. You have the experience of navigating and comply with government procurement frameworks and processes is needed
- An understanding and experience of working in digital and experience of working with digital product, design and AI teams. You therefore can understand Sorai’s core offering to leverage various for programmes of work
- Experience in writing and submitting successful proposals for government contracts will be necessary in this role.
- An established network within the UK public sector and related industries is preferred

This is a commission-based partnership role, with vested equity. You will have the infrastructure and support of the business to grow the public sector from the ground up. You will have access to a talent bench for whatever skillset you should need for projects, and receive full support from our legal, compliance and marketing functions.
With generous commissions and profit share on each successful bid, you will also have the opportunity to earn equity based on agreed milestones via our EMI Scheme.
